The Kite Runner: Ch.4
As I was reading this chapter, I realized that even though Amir is always trying to be like his father...they are more alike than he thinks. I couldn’t help but notice that as a young boy, Baba never called Ali his friend, even though they grew up together and got along, only because of ethnic and religious differences. So it seems as if history repeats itself, because Amir does the same by not acknowledging Hassan as his friend. I thought this was very selfish and ignorant of Amir to do that because he just wants to impress his father that much that he’s willing to throw away a true friend like, Hassan who is always truly there for him.
